An original research project, with a Made in FVG heart, which investigates the relationship between contemporary art and wallcovering through a series of wallpaper projects created by leading contemporary artists.
Launched at the Fuorisalone last April 2022, CARTEdition is the artist wallpaper project developed by Wall&decò, a leading company in the production of contemporary wallpaper, and AtemporaryStudio, based on an idea and curated by Giovanna Felluga, with the advice of Samantha Punis, owners of the studio based in Trieste and active on an international scale.
CARTEdition is a contemporary art project that was created to expand the scope of artistic research to a new medium, wallpaper.
(Giovanna Felluga)
For the 2022 collection, 7 artists were involved who developed as many specific themes: from Fabrice Hyber‘s “green” reflections on the relationship between man and Mother Nature to the prints of plush animals thrown on a paper wall made by Jimmie Durham in 2019 and transposed on an abstract background by LABINAC, from the flocks of migratory birds by Liliana Moro to the Japanese black cats by Riccardo Previdi, from the riot of plants that winks at Vanitas by Francesco Simeti to the vintage wallpapers assembled in a colorful patchwork by Donatella Spaziani, up to the giant jewels by Patrick Tuttofuoco.
A collection destined to expand from year to year, “unlimited” yet numbered. The artistic projects are not, in fact, patterns but full-width images proposed in large format – 5.40 x 3.60 meters – for an effect of great scenic impact.
A world that can also be experienced in an “immersive” way in one of the Atemporary Art Apartments, a collateral hospitality project created by AtemporaryStudio. In addition to Casa Trentini in Trento, it is, in fact, possible to book a stay at Casa Agrado in Grado, two seafront apartments inaugurated in summer 2022 and overlooking the most exclusive stretch of beach with a view as far as the eye can see on the Gulf of Trieste.
In addition to the wallpaper work of the artist Liliana Moro on a black and blue background, Casa Agrado amazes for the original project signed by Fabio Pasini of the Krej architecture studio. The architect has developed an interior solution by creating a structure of iron and stratified glass designed to leave the walls free in order to highlight the artist’s wallpaper, thus offering a unique artistic-architectural experience.
Casa Agrado includes another beautiful Friulian design project handmade in a limited edition: it is Juice di MetMat collection designed by Mattia and Riccardo Meterc – the “king of the weave” as he is called, who was able to innovate the image of the classic Thonet produced in the chair district of Manzano in Friuli Venezia Giulia by collaborating with large companies and world-famous designers.
And being all or almost Made in FVG, the Illy X1 Iperespresso coffee machine, a 60s-style icon created by Luca Trazzi, could not be missing in the Atemporary Art Apartments.
