In Buttrio, inside the destination hotel of the same name, Le Fucine Gourmet is a gastronomic journey with only 24 seats overlooking a 6-metre open kitchen where every evening chefs Andrea Fantini and Maurizio Piani showcase the best flavors of the territory.

Opened in September 2023, the restaurant completes the offer of Le Fucine, a green oasis that offers 64 rooms, a wellness area, two restaurants, a bistro and a business center.

The resort is located in Buttrio, called the City of Wine, nestled among the hills of the Colli Orientali del Friuli and a few steps from Collio, known throughout the world for the superior quality of its wines.

Le Fucine and, in particular, its gastronomic offer are the result of careful research into the raw materials linked to the territory and its seasonality.

The fine dining proposal completes the philosophy of the structure aimed at pampering guests by offering the best food and wine selection of the territory in which it is located. The kitchen was entrusted to chef Andrea Fantini who, with a long career at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan with Sergio Mei, here at Le Fucine has realized his dream of creating a haute cuisine project in his hometown that he has carried out together with the sous chef Maurizio Piani and the maître d’ and sommelier Nicholas Chiarcossi.

A very close-knit and tested team that had already worked together successfully in the past and that every 3 months models a gastronomic journey for its guests made up of 16 dishes divided into starters, first courses, second courses and desserts.

The culinary offer is based on the best ingredients sourced according to the season thanks also to the active collaboration with small producers and local companies, with the commitment to valorising the local raw materials and promoting total sustainability in their cuisine.

On the menu we find creative dishes with a frank, clean and delicious taste such as ‘Scallops, white butter and daikon’, or ‘Rice, carrot, anise and horseradish’, and, among the second courses, ‘Pigeon – matured in wax to make it softer – spring onion and perigord’ or ‘Deer, garlic and parsley’.

The wine cellar, which boasts over 1200 labels, is looked after with great passion by the sommelier Nicholas.

The restaurant is set in an intimate room, which comes alive at sunset thanks to the light that artfully illuminates the tables and the large open kitchen. Not only is everything taken care of down to the smallest detail, but above all it is the impeccable service that makes the difference and leaves an unforgettable memory of the evening.

Open in the evening from Tuesday to Saturday, you can opt for four, six, or eight-course tasting menus. Follow the restaurant’s social networks to stay updated on the many events organized including four-handed dinners with fellow chefs from all over Italy and beyond.

The Secret

Entering from the Hotel side, before dinner, you can have an aperitif in the beautiful lounge room with a fireplace. Sitting on the sofas, you can admire “The Bull” by the artist Pietro De Tommaso, who passed away in 2021. The president of the Danieli group, who fell in love with the work, wanted it to be reproduced 20 times larger and positioned in the external square of Le Fucine, depicting the proud animal that looks forward, like someone who faces things head-on.
