Nodo Hotel & Restaurant (UD)
In Codroipo, the first design hotel with a fine dining restaurant, urban spa and an interior inspired by the scents of the cedars of its centuries-old park and the union between art and territory.
“Nodo”, meaning knot/joint in Italian, is the symbol of the natural wood that embraces guests upon arrival and also of the central position of the hotel, located right in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia: the name Codroipo, in fact, derives from the Latin “quadrivium” as the city was important ” junction” between two imperial roads in Roman times.
Opened by the Facchini family in 2020, Nodo Hotel & Restaurant was developed according to a sustainable concept, entirely built, in continuity with the secular trees of its garden, in cedar wood, and also to date the only CasaClima certified structure in the region.
We wanted to create the first design hotel with an international mood in the area, a place to enjoy all day long, for a dinner in the garden or a romantic aperitif.

All the hotel’s spaces, from the rooms to the restaurant, dialogue with the outside through large terraces and giant windows overlooking the garden, creating a pleasant continuity between the interior and the green areas.
An attention to detail and to the psychophysical well-being of the guests which finds its natural completion in the binomial nature & art. The decor of the structure was, in fact, designed together with the painter and sculptor Giorgio Celiberti, the last “master of the North-East” as he is often described. Born in Udine in 1929, after studying with Emilio Vedova and participating in a Venice Art Biennale at the young age of just 19, he is the protagonist of a successful international career in the art world that will take him to various capitals, from London to Paris, and to organize various solo exhibitions including those at Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara and at the Grand Palais in Paris.
Faithful to the will of the Facchini family to make Nodo “home” not only for travellers, but also for the local community, the restaurant Al Bassotto has already become a point of reference in the area for all lovers of good food and good wine.
Al Bassotto, even in the cuisine, follows the same principles of sustainability that inspire the entire project, favoring the seasonality of the raw material and collaborations with local producers, interpreting Italian flavors in a contemporary key. A contrast also enhanced by the team which boasts the long experience of Nevio Cibinel, maître d’, already well known in the region, together with the creative flair of the young chef Bajram Ostreci.
So on the menu we find delicious recipes such as smoked scallops on macadamia sauce with black cabbage, tamarind and ginger, scampi in XO sauce, beetroot gazpacho and lard mayonnaise, or marinated cod in polenta crust with cabbage and broccoli, as well as solid proposals based on the traditional products of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Also the wine list moves in the same direction of parallel research between local and global, offering a journey through the small wineries from Collio as well as the best Italian and international labels.
Before dinner at Al Bassotto restaurant, you can book the hotel’s Urban SPA, also open to external guests, which includes – in addition to the Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cryotherapy and aromatherapy shower, relax and herbal tea areas – a pleasant “secret”. This is the Jacuzzi Terrace with solarium, the only one of its kind in the region, which can also be privatized for just two people, where you can enjoy an aperitif based on Ribolla Gialla immersed in the “bubbles” of the hydromassage.
The attention to guest comfort is completed by completely soundproofed rooms with private terrace, Acqua di Parma courtesy set and, in the suites, a romantic freestanding bathtub.
Whether it’s for a gourmet dinner or a weekend visiting the treasures of Friuli Venezia Giulia, from the nearby Villa Manin to the Rivolto Air Base, “home” of the Frecce Tricolori, Nodo Hotel is certainly a destination that will for sure become one of your places of the heart.
The Secret
Giorgio Celiberti has personally chosen the works that decorate the restaurant and the common areas of the structure, such as the lounge with veranda, perfect for a coffee break or a cocktail overlooking the garden.
