Duchi Maris Sistiana
In the coastal hamlet of Portopiccolo, a refined seafood restaurant with an amazing sea view

In Sistiana, Duchi Maris is the gourmet heart of the famous coastal hamlet of Portopiccolo, owned by the Duchi Group, synonymous with excellent hospitality in the heart of Trieste with the historic Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta.
Portopiccolo is a lifestyle oasis created from the restoration of an ancient stone quarry. Nestled in the Bay of Sistiana, the resort offers a 360° maritime experience with a 5-star hotel, a private marina, a beach club, a panoramic spa, and, of course, a top-notch culinary offering.
Duchi Maris fits into this context as the ideal destination for those seeking a waterfront dinner, where contemporary design meets maritime tradition. This is the signature style, established in summer 2025, of the Duchi Group, whose hospitality heritage is inextricably linked to the legendary Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta in Trieste.

The Menu and Wine List
The culinary philosophy of Duchi Maris is a tribute to the Gulf of Trieste and the freshness of local seafood, interpreted with the technical precision that distinguishes the “Harry’s” family restaurant at the Grand Hotel Duchi d’Aosta in Trieste, by the group’s executive chef, Stefano Ferluga.
From raw seafood, mixed gratin, and Catalan-style lobster, to first courses such as linguine with lobster busara source and spaghetti with clams and bottarga, to the house-made fried fish and the catch of the day with various side courses, the dishes are a tribute to pure seafood recipes. The wine list is a carefully curated selection of the best white wines from the Collio and Carso regions, as well as top international labels.

Portopiccolo Bay and an aperitif with a sea view
Portopiccolo is a truly unique property in Friuli Venezia Giulia, it is located in a panoramic position on the Gulf of Trieste, near Miramare Castle and Duino Castle. Its sustainable, zero-impact architecture is nestled within the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve.
The ideal experience is an aperitif at sunset, followed by a seafood dinner while the sky turns pink and the sailboats slowly return to the marina. All the beauty and flavor of the sea.

The Secret
Sistiana Bay was once home to a limestone quarry that had been used for the construction of nearby cities since the 2nd century AD, but which later fell into a state of abandonment in the 1970s.
