Since 1982, Il Pedrocchino, owned by the Dalla Torre family, has been one of the most renowned fish restaurants in Northern Italy, thanks to the high hospitality and elegant atmosphere of the ancient Venetian-Friulian patrician homes, so rare to find in modern times.
Once you reach the center of Sacile, a small town between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, entering Il Pedrocchino is like being welcomed into a timeless home cared for in every detail: Persian carpets, many works of art on the walls, shiny silverware, and fireplaces always lit.
The elegant staff and the Dalla Torre family, Giampiero and his wife Donatella with their sons Paolo, in charge of the kitchen, and Francesco are always ready to welcome guests with a warm smile, accompany them to the table and offer them a fresh welcome bubbly wine.

The restaurant was born inside an ancient palace of the 18th century, built on a pre-existing building used for serving drinks since the 15th century, since 1929 with the name of “Pedrocchino”, maintained by the current owners.
Just like a house, the Pedrocchino is divided into 5 romantic rooms with exposed beams, period furniture, and original 18th century fireplaces, one of which is characterized by furnishings by Krug Champagne, of which the restaurant is Ambassador.
In the summer, you can book the internal patio with a large centuries-old olive tree in the center, while the back garden is the ideal setting for the most important events.
In the kitchen we find Paolo Dalla Torre who, after important experiences including at the Alain Ducasse Training School in Paris, the Hotel Danieli in Venice and the Perbellini Restaurant in Isola Rizza, has returned home as executive chef of the family restaurant, bringing to the table a traditional cuisine that puts the excellence of the raw material at the center of each dish.
The fish dishes offered respect the Venetian-Friulian tradition, interpreted with a modern twist and some interesting openings to great international cuisine. Among the appetizers, the signature of the house Acquario del Mare Plateau stands out in the raw version with oyster, scampi, shrimp, sea bass tartare, salmon, sea bream sashimi, sea cicada, sea bass carpaccio, and in the cooked version with scallop, shrimp, cod, scampi, sea cicada, shrimp tails and octopus. One of the most beautiful and good fish appetizers of the Venetian area.
The menu also includes delicious fish pasta courses such as the Pacchero pasta with lobster pulp in red sauce, slightly spicy and reduced with basil or the Spaghetti with clams, scampi and mullet bottarga, and second courses such as the Grilled Scampi with mango, pepper and basil chutney, the Catalan-style Lobster, julienne of celery, carrot, fennel, Tropea onion and tomato, up to the sea bass, king of our seas, proposed in different ways. Each dish is a succession of freshness, taste and very high aesthetics of the mise en place, pampered from the amuse-bouche to the dessert by an incredibly attentive personnel.
The underground wine cellar of Il Pedrocchino, recovered from the foundations of the 15th century patrician palace, hosts 600 labels with a prevalence of white wines and champagne, as well as truly remarkable reserves, rums and cognacs, carefully selected by Giampiero from the best wineries and distilleries in the world.
And if you are really feeling at home, don’t worry: 6 rooms overlooking the garden are reserved for guests.
The Secret
Giampiero and Donatella took over Il Pedrocchino by chance. The property belonged to a friend of theirs who couldn’t rent it and hence turned to them for help. When Giampiero saw it, he fell in love with it to the point of deciding to open his own business there.
