Just as it should be for a social reference point of the territory, Locanda Alle Vigne is open all day, never failing to make the guest feel at home whether for a coffee, a romantic dinner or a wine tasting.

This is just one of the characteristics of the Locanda desired by the owners who here have crowned a dream, thought, wanted, and then realized with so much passion.

The Locanda was born, in fact, inside the Subida di Monte winery, which with 50 years of history behind it is a point of reference in the regional wine scene, owned since 2020 by the Scarpa family who wanted to extend the mission of the agricultural company to hospitality devoted to sincere conviviality.

Designed by the Ak Plus architecture studio, the heart of the Locanda is, in fact, a large fireplace – the Fogolâr – around which to gather as the Friulian tradition dictates, and a play of terraces and windows that open onto a magical panorama dotted with vines and flower beds.

An environment in direct contact with nature, where even the design is based, with great elegance, on the rural symbols of the Collio and the collaboration with artisan and design companies of the territory: here the ancient clothes of the scarecrows become “tapestries” that frame the high ceilings, two enormous luminous moons remind us of the link between wine and the stars, and a multitude of decorative ceramics that between the earth and food.

Everything is designed with great care by the owner Gabriella Scarpa to make guests feel at home, so much so that she has personally taken care of the mise en place which, for example, sees a particular use of artisanal earthenware casseroles – pignatte – made to measure thanks to the collaboration with Ceramiche Cautero of Savorgnano del Torre and served directly at the table.

The kitchen is headed by the Slovenian chef Saša Zerjal, with a passion for philosophy as well as for good food, who loves to interpret local dishes with taste and lightness thanks to the love for many typical recipes passed down to him by grandmother Miranda. While at the bar we find the mixologist Luca Cenni, an attentive alchemist and great selector of raw materials.

The menu includes a careful selection of cured meats and cheeses from local producers including the raw ham of D’Osvaldo and the salami, ossocollo and pancetta from L’angolo del Norcino of the Veliscek farm, accompanied by vegetables from the Locanda’s garden.

Many the traditional dishes in the menu such as Frico, omelettes with seasonal herbs, homemade pasta and gnocchi. While, among the second courses, there is always chicken from the company Pez of Aiello del Friuli raised with natural foods and, to conclude, homemade desserts with recipes recovered from our grandmothers’.

The spaces are intelligently divided and perfect, therefore, both for a romantic dinner, a business meeting or a party with a view. In addition to the main room of the restaurant, divided into the Sala del Fogolar, which overlooks the External Court with fireplace and BBQ, and the Sala della Luna adjacent to the Panoramic Terrace, Locanda Allee Vigne also offers two more intimate adjacent rooms, the Sala della Luna and the Sala Degustazione del Caminetto located next to the vinegar cellar.

Before or after the meal, Locanda Alle Vigne also offers the opportunity to book tastings of the excellent products of the Subida di Monte farm, such as wines and must vinegar, in the new Cantina.

On the other hand, we are in the heart of the Collio, a place of wine famous throughout the world and home of growers who create some of the best Friulian white wines thanks to a truly unique altitude, climate and type of soil.

The Secret

On the long table that separates the two central rooms of the restaurant, there is a precious collection of Vini della Pace, a project born in 1983 from an idea of ​​the Cantine Produttori di Cormòns.
Here they created the largest collection of vines in the world with over 650 varieties from over 60 countries and the Vino della Pace embellished with collector’s labels designed in limited editions by great international artists, including Enrico Bay, Fernando Botero, Salvatore Fiume, Zoran Mušič, Giacomo Manzù, Luciano Minguzzi, Yoko Ono, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Aligi Sassu, Emilio Tadini, Ernesto Treccani, and many others.
