With 360° views of the most beautiful landscapes of Friuli Venezia Giulia and an “Into the Wild” mood, Friland is the perfect choice to discover some of the most “secret” places in the region completely immersed in nature.
Friland interprets a new concept of leisure, devoted to total immersion in Nature and the search for a dimension of well-being, for a “slow journey that leaves no trace in the environment”, as its founders define it.
Friland’s idea was born in 2017 and, after careful planning, came to life in August 2020 with the first “room in nature” located in Val Saisera, in the Julian Alps. Today it has 6 exclusive destinations and as many panoramic tiny houses that allow you to enjoy a truly out of the ordinary holiday: from the mountains, such as the destination of Porzus, Val Saisera or Piana di Campo Bonis, to the Upper Adriatic lagoon, like that of Marano, up to the hills designed by the beautiful Friulian vineyards such as that of Savorgnano, inside the biodynamic estate Aquila del Torre (where the photos were taken).
We wanted to create an experience of “freedom” that could allow our guests to feel the sensation of total immersion in nature.
(Luca Simeoni, Experience Manager)
The adventure begins immediately, with a smart self check-in & out system to ensure maximum freedom for guests. In fact, at the time of booking, guests will receive an email containing the personal code for access to the accommodation as well as useful information on their destination, including a guide with lots of suggestions on the best viewpoints, trails and restaurants nearby.
Each structure is completely eco-friendly, designed and patented by the Friland team after years of experimentation to have zero impact on the surrounding environment. Fir wood for the interiors and larch for the exteriors, a photovoltaic system for energy storage, and insulation made with waste from the textile industry, all the details have been planned to be completely sustainable.
The interiors offer a truly cosy atmosphere made even more special by the huge panoramic windows that open on three sides, offering truly breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. Complete with heating and air conditioning systems, minibar, mini kitchen and private bathroom with shower, Friland’s tiny houses are designed to offer every comfort, even in their small spaces, including a welcome gift that includes wine or craft beer and a selection of local products for breakfast.
All the destinations, in addition to the naturalistic value, are designed to enhance the surrounding territory. The eco-accommodation in Savorgnano, for example, is housed within the Aquila del Torre wine estate on a hill among the vineyards with a 360 ° panoramic view that extends from the Castle of Udine to the Colli Orientali up to the hills of Savorgnano del Torre.
Those who choose this destination can, in fact, enjoy the experiences connected to the wine estate, such as guided visits to the cellar and vineyards and tasting experiences to discover their wines produced in biodynamics. From the Friulian White to Riesling or Picolit, from Merlot to Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, all the wines of Aquila del Torre stand out for quality and character, beautifully interpreting the spirit of their territory.
Admiring the surrounding landscape while waiting for the sunset, perhaps accompanied by a good glass of wine, listening to the birdsong at nightfall, and opening your eyes tickled by a breathtaking sunrise are just some of the magical moments that you can enjoy by choosing a Friland experience.
The Secret
With a view to sustainability, all the new “houses” will be equipped with a screen to monitor their energy consumption, making guests more aware of their environmental footprint.
