Combining the charm of the typical fishing huts of the Friulian lagoons with the floating houses with a Nordic flavour, the houseboats of Marina Azzurra Resort are born from an original and totally “made in FVG” project, the result of the love for this wonderful territory of a family of entrepreneurs from the area.

A dream born 30 years ago which they inaugurated in 2019, giving life to a truly unique experience in Italy.

There are 89 units in the Resort, divided between the Lagoon, located in the dock, the Garden and Chalet, located in the large tree-lined garden, and the River, among the most picturesque, moored on the Tagliamento river.

The pastel colors, blue, turquoise, pink, are a tribute to the typical houses of Burano in the Venice lagoon. Whilst, the shape, with the large sloping roof covered with straw, alludes to the architecture of the “casoni”, ancient fishermen’s houses with a peculiar architecture typical of the Friulian and Venetian lagoon valleys.

Made by a company from Monfalcone, specialized in the design and recovery of boats of various types, the houseboats of the Marina Azzurra Resort are small masterpieces of engineering and sustainability.

The large 65m2 interiors are spread over two floors. On the lower floor there is the sleeping area, with a bedroom complete with walk-in wardrobe, and a small living room with sofa, while on the upper floor there is a dinette with table, the kitchen, and a beautiful terrace-solarium with table, umbrella and sunbeds for sunbathing or enjoying a coffee with a view.

The Resort also offers a swimming pool with hydromassage waterfalls, a pool bar open all day and an original floating clubhouse, the Emerald River, named in honor of the distinctive color of the Tagliamento river. Here you can have breakfast, have an aperitif at sunset, or enjoy a dinner based on typical local products to be paired with extraordinary Friulian wines.

Both breakfast and dinner can also be ordered with delivery formula to be enjoyed in your own romantic houseboat, perhaps by candlelight.

Also available to guests are bicycles and e-bikes to discover the area and electric boats to enjoy the flora and fauna that populate the “emerald river”.

Definitely one of the most magical experiences in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The Secret

What has become the Emerald River today has a long history behind it. For many years, in fact, it floated on the placid waters of Lake Constance in Switzerland, experiencing its first years of life as an unusual brewery.
